Queens Park Rangers were formed in the year 1885 and they played on 12 different home grounds over the years since forming. They entered the third division of the football league in 1920, however it was not until the year 1967 that people started to take notice, as QPR battled their way to the league cup final and defeated West Brom winning the encounter 3- 2. Rangers spent most of their time between the years 1921 and 1960 in the third division south, however they did enjoy a brief spell in the second division between 1949 and 1952. They reached the quarter finals on several occasions before 1960, including in the years 1923 and 1948.
Dave Mangnall was in charge of the club between 1944 and 1958 before Jack Taylor took charge at the club in the year 1952, going on to spend seven years in charge at the club.
George Goddard was their star player during the early years as he was prolific in front of goal, scoring a staggering 72 league goals for the club between 1926 and 1934. Tony Ingham made his debut for Rangers in the year 1950 and went on to spend 13 years playing for the club, making a record number of league appearances at the club, 519 in total.
