Paul Parker

Craven Cottage was where Parker began his career. As a schoolboy he had trials with Arsenal, but the cottagers had designs on him since he was ten. When he signed for them as an apprentice he was just over 1.6m tall. Parker possessed an incredible spring that allowed him to compete in the air with the tallest of strikers and his low centre gravity meant that he was rarely knocked off the ball. Parker made his league debut for Fulham, aged 17, in 1981. By 1984 he was an established squad member, with his anticipation, enthusiasm and speed marking him out as a class player in the marking. In total, Parker made 153 appearances for Fulham before moving onto play for QPR and then Manchester United.

Gary Bannister

Bannister enjoyed a lengthy playing career, starting his playing career off at Coventry City before moving to Sheffield Wednesday. He left for QPR in 1984 and went on to make over 170 appearances for the club and score 66 goals. He later on enjoyed spells playing for Oxford United and Nottingham Forest.
